Release notes
What each version added and fixed. An installed app tells you when a new version is out.
1.0.1
October 26, 2026
Added
- Open and find a file right there. Right-click a file in the change list or the Files tab to show it in its folder or open it now. Offered only for files still in the folder.
- A word after an update. The first time a new version opens it says so in one line, with a link straight to these notes.
- The user guide and contact page, from inside the app. Settings › About Octorium now leads to the guide and the contact page, in the language the app speaks.
- A notification opens its entry. If automatic saves arrive as system notifications, pressing one opens Octorium on that very entry.
- Names for screen readers. Every icon-only button now has a name, so a screen reader can read the bookmark, describe, folder and settings buttons.
- Subscribe during the trial. Settings › Account now offers to start the subscription before the free trial ends. The paid period starts that day, and the remaining free days lapse.
- Times on a computer with no time zone. Times are always shown in the computer’s own time zone. When the computer has none set (left at UTC), the zone of where you connect from is used instead — for now, Korean time from Korea.
Fixed
- A window that could not hold its screen. Mac Right after a folder was added, while the "similar files" notice was showing, the three-column screen grew taller than the window: the search and status bars slipped above the title bar and the folder list on the left looked empty. The screen now fits the window with the notice showing.
- Where the sign-in comes back. Mac After signing in with Google, the return could land in another program on the same Mac that opens Octorium links, and the sign-in never finished. It now comes back to the Octorium that started it.
Unchanged
Recording, descriptions, restoring and subscriptions are as they were.

Added
- The first official release. Give it a folder and it records your saves, explains what changed, compares, and goes back whenever you ask. For Mac and Windows.
